I use your personal information only where necessary and appropriate. This may include:

  • Responding to your enquiry

  • Providing counselling or therapy services

  • Maintaining clinical and administrative records

Depending on where you are located and which privacy laws apply, I may process your information on one or more of the following bases:

  • Your consent, for example when you contact me, submit a form, or agree to begin therapy

  • Contractual necessity, where processing is needed to provide therapy services you have requested

  • Legal or ethical obligations, including record-keeping, safeguarding, risk management, or professional accountability

  • Legitimate professional interests, such as managing my practice, maintaining records, and protecting the safety of clients and others

  • Vital interests, if there is a serious and immediate risk of harm

For sensitive therapy-related information, I take additional care and process it only for appropriate therapeutic, professional, ethical, safeguarding, or legal purposes.

5. Confidentiality

Therapy is confidential, and confidentiality is central to the therapeutic relationship.

However, confidentiality is not absolute. I may need to share information in limited circumstances, including:

  • If there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person

  • If there are safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

  • If disclosure is required by law, court order, or legal process

  • If there is a genuine concern about immediate safety and I am unable to reach you

  • For professional supervision, where client identity is protected as far as possible

I receive professional supervision as part of ethical therapeutic practice. In supervision, client material may be discussed in a confidential and anonymised or minimally identifying way, for the purpose of maintaining safe and ethical practice.

6. Couples and family therapy

In couples or family therapy, information shared by one participant may be clinically relevant to the therapeutic work. I will discuss confidentiality boundaries with all participants as part of the therapy agreement.

I do not usually hold “secrets” between members of a couple or family where doing so would compromise the therapeutic process, safety, or ethical practice. This will be explained more fully before or during the beginning of therapy.

7. How your information is stored

I take reasonable steps to store your information securely. Records may be stored using password-protected devices, secure digital systems, encrypted or access-controlled accounts, and/or limited paper records where necessary.

I aim to keep personal information accurate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for therapy, administration, legal, and ethical purposes.

8. How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as necessary.

Therapy records are usually retained for a period after therapy ends for ethical, legal, insurance, and professional accountability reasons. The exact retention period may depend on the type of record, the nature of the work, and applicable legal or professional requirements.

After the relevant retention period, records will be securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymised.

9. Sharing your information

I may share limited personal information only where necessary, including with:

  • Secure booking, email, website, video-call, or practice-management platforms

  • Payment processors or accounting services

  • Professional supervisors

  • Legal, regulatory, safeguarding, or emergency services where required

  • Professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers, or legal advisers

Where third-party services are used, I take reasonable care to choose services that provide appropriate privacy and security protections.

10. International clients and data transfers

Because Unfold Counselling & Therapy Services works online with clients in India and internationally, your personal information may be processed or stored in more than one country depending on the services used, such as email, video conferencing, website hosting, booking, or payment platforms.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, I take reasonable steps to ensure that it is handled securely and in line with applicable data protection requirements.

11. Cookies and website analytics

This website may use cookies or similar technologies to help it function, improve user experience, understand general visitor activity, and maintain security.

Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. You can usually adjust your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the website may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

16. A Note on the Artwork

© 2026 Unfold Counselling & Therapy Services. All rights reserved.

All the artwork on this website has been created by me, unless otherwise stated.

I am not a formally trained artist. My Baba was my first art teacher. I grew up watching him paint, learning from the way he looked at colour, shape, and detail, and slowly finding my own way with it.

Some of the pieces here were also made while learning from other art teachers, artists, references, demonstrations, and YouTube tutorials. I want to be honest about that, because learning art has always felt like learning in the company of others.

The finished artworks, stories, reflections, and therapeutic meanings shared on this website are my own, and are used for Unfold Counselling & Therapy Services. Please do not copy, reproduce, or use them without permission.
